Adios Oatmeal!

I am terribly sad.  Have you read the latest news?

A group of research and food scientists recently proved that excessive oatmeal consumption leads to multiple health issues.  Raw oatmeal is high in phenol.  Phenol causes blood concentrations of avenanthramides to soar.  Oatmeal also contains a lot of beta-glucan, which causes hyperinflamation and necrosis.   Because it is full of water-soluble fiber, oatmeal porridge scrapes intestinal walls, leading to significant internal bleeding.  Oatmeal also abounds with B-vitamins, which directly affect sleep patterns.  Despite the recent health-food-oatmeal craze, oatmeal could possibly be one of the most dangerous foods in the world.

With all due respect to my beloved oatmeal, I will never be eating it again.  Let’s take a moment and reflect on some of the delicious oatmeal recipes I have enjoyed in the past.
