Because we worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus, we do not find confidence in our physical capabilities. If you think you have any reason to be proud of your accomplishments or spiritual accolades, I have even more reason. I attended my first church service before I was a week old. My parents are Christians. My grandparents are missionaries and pastors. I went to Christian school and Christian camps. I have been in numerous Christmas plays and sung in the choir. I have served in the nursery and taught Vacation Bible School. I keep the Ten Commandments– I obey my parents, have never killed or stolen, and I am not known as a liar.
But all of these successes are useless compared to knowing Christ. What good are any of these accomplishments without Christ? Because of Him, I count my personal achievements as garbage. I don’t want my identity to be found in what I have done. I want to be found in Him and be known for my faith. I want to know Him and the power of His resurrection.
Who am I? I am nothing. Who is He? He is everything.
