Every Saturday I share three simple things that brought me happiness during the week. These posts may grow or change as time passes. Please feel free to share your own simple joys in the comments section!
So, um…sorry for not sharing my simple joys last week. As they say at Pine Cove, grace abounds.
April 7 – 13
1. Electric lights
On Monday morning, I rose out of bed with half-closed eyes, and I swiped the alarm on my phone. It was early, the room was dark, and I was still tired. I stretched my arms wide to awaken my muscles, and I felt my hand hit the unlit bulb on my ceiling (which isn’t unusual since there’s only a 6.25-foot clearance). The bulb plopped onto my bed, and, instinctively, I reached for the light-switch. To nobody’s surprise, the room remained dark. I used a battery-operated lantern to get ready for work, which made me very thankful for electric lights!
Further information: my new light is incredibly bright. This also brings me joy because I can finally see inside my closet.
The actual sunburn isn’t so joyful, but I am happy that the sun is shining enough to give me sunburn!
Does anyone else just really love buying groceries? I look forward to it all week long.
