Top Ten Tuesday: M is for Misguided

Top Ten Tuesday

I am indecisive. At least, I think I am indecisive. Most likely, I am indecisive. I really can’t decide. Am I indecisive?

I know that my indecisive tendencies are based on fear; I don’t want to make a misguided decision.  Thankfully, God gives us clear directions. He doesn’t leave us to wander and wonder.

Ten Verses for When You Feel Misguided

The clearest revelation of God’s will is First Thessalonians 4:3a.

1. I Thessalonians 4:3a

“For this is the will of God: your sanctification.”

I Thess. 4:3a

It’s as plain as that; God wants us to act like Jesus in every situation.

2. Ephesians 2:10

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works which He has before ordained that we should walk in them.”

We are God’s children, and He has planned ways for us to serve Him. There are some steps that we can take to build our relationship with God and prepare for a life of service.

3. Romans 12:1-2

“I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”

Christians remain on earth after salvation so that they can make more disciples.

4. Matthew 5:16

“Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify God who is in heaven.”

5. Matthew 28:19-20

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

This is God’s supreme will:  that we will know Him, build a relationship with Him, and teach others about Him.

If a matter doesn’t contradict God’s supreme will, we are left to make our own decisions. In these cases, there might not be a bad choice. Yet, we can ask God for wisdom.

6. James 1:5

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you”

7. Proverbs 2:6

“For the Lord gives the wisdom; out of his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”

8. I Kings 3:9.

“So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

9. Psalm 32:8

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.”

By God’s grace, he continues to direct our lives and give us wisdom until we are with Him in heaven.

10. Philippians 1:6

“God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again”
