I could describe all 31 of these photos in one word: uninspired. Honestly, I didn’t try very hard to get good pictures; I am just proud that I still haven’t missed a day. Maybe I will get some better shots next month.
Also, I counted 16 pumpkins in these pictures. Let me know if I missed any.
October 1. Matching (I snapped this picture during my run and then a walker wanted to discuss how spooky our neighborhood gets in October. Personally, I thought the matching skeletons on tree swings were funny, not scary.)
October 2. Pumpkin
October 3. Professional
October 4. Sport
October 5. Shoes
October 6. Ceiling
October 7. Name (If you’ve ever written me a thoughtful note, it’s probably in this overflowing box of cards and letters. It took me longer to put all the letters back into my box than it did for me to take this picture.)
October 8. Chaos (Three computer screens just weren’t enough today)
October 9. Bright
October 10. Harvest
October 11. Southern (Fun fact: I live in the city where Krispy Kreme began)
October 12. Healthy
October 13. Luck (According to the Lexington Dispatch, Lee Hinkle attributes the 100-year-long success of his family business to “Hard work, timing and a little bit of luck.” [As reported in the article “Conrad & Hinkle celebrates 100 years” by Ben Coley on February 5, 2019]).
October 14. Door
October 15. Idea
October 16. Thing (This is the “thingest” thing in my apartment. It is an amethyst inukshuk that my brother bought for me when he portaged in Canada last year. These statues used to serve as signposts in the tundra to guide travelers on the safest routes.)
October 17. Black
October 18. Create
October 19. Current mood (I defrosted my freezer today because I didn’t want to study. True story.)
October 20. Polka Dots
October 21. Casual (just another casual stroll through Old Salem)
October 22. Fear (these plastic skeletons don’t scare me. I’m just trying to figure out how last year I completely missed the extravagant decorations that appear in my neighborhood in October.)
October 23. Comfort
October 24. Letters
October 25. Half
October 26. Quiet
October 27. Celebrate
October 28. Button
October 29. Magic (Watching your phone sync nearly 800 photos, dozens of files, and who knows how many contacts in a matter of minutes is magic).
October 30. Travel (This may be the worst photo that I have shared all year. Today was exhausting, so here is a picture of my half-packed suitcase. Maybe I will get a better picture tomorrow after I reach my destination.)
October 31. Deep
