I have a new favorite piece of art, and I have to admit that the basis of my appreciation is my own interpretation of the artwork. I haven’t researched the piece, so I don’t know what the artist intended for me to understand.

March 10-16, 2018

1. Longer days and more sunlight!

May we never lose the blessing that is Daylight Savings Time!

2. The overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

(both the actual love of God, and the chorus of this song.  Check out the lyrics!)

Oh! The overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God.

Oh! It chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine.

I couldn’t earn it. I don’t deserve it! Still, You give Yourself away.

Oh! The overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God.

3. This cartoon that Brother shared on Facebook.

And the top comment that he added is true.  Our last name actually means “sheep” in German.

God hates sin; God is love

God hates sin; God is love

There are some books of the Bible that are hard to stomach.  Take Nahum, for example.  The short book explains how God will utterly destroy Nineveh.  Nahum states that God is against these people.  He planned their devastation.

This goes against what we are told about God.  Common teaching paints God as a cosmic cheerleader that loves everyone.  At the very least, He delights in our success.

So which is true?  Does God love or does He hate?

His Love Endures Forever

His Love Endures Forever

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.

His love endures forever.

He is greater than the gods of wood.

His love endures forever.

The earthly lords are under His throne.

His love endures forever.

 Miraculous works are His alone.

His love endures forever.

Give thanks to Him who made the skies.

His love endures forever.

He parted the water so earth could rise.

His love endures forever.

Thank Him who made the greatest lights—

His love endures forever.

the sun for day, the moon for night.

His love endures forever.

With a mighty hand and outstretched arm,

His love endures forever.

He saved His people from certain harm.

His love endures forever.

Threw their enemies below the sea,

His love endures forever.

Though they were slaves, He set them free.

His love endures forever.

He remembered us in our low estate

His love endures forever.

Our faith is small; His grace is great.

His love endures forever.

He provides for those who call Him friend.

His love endures forever.

Give thanks to the God whose love will not end.

His love endures forever.

November 28-24

1. My parents celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary last weekend.  I am very thankful that these self-described “partners in excellence” are my Mom and Dad.

This photo was taken two years ago in Connecticut.

2. We repainted Brother’s old room.

Brother moved to Connecticut two years ago, but we hadn’t done much to his childhood bedroom since then.  Yesterday, Mom and I spent hours moving the furniture, cleaning, and painting.  We feel accomplished, and the room looks great.

3. Coffee flavored Greek yogurt.

I am obsessed with this stuff.  It is a seasonal flavor at Aldi, so I basically buy as many containers as will fit in my fridge at one time.  You seriously need to get to Aldi ASAP. Why are you still reading?  GO!!

Now I want to know…what seasonal foods do you stockpile?

The Date-iversary

The Date-iversary

I am not sure if it is a sign of our growing sentimentality or egocentricity, but celebrating the anniversary of when a couple begins dating has become widely popular.

Either way, the girl who lives across the hall from me asked me to take “date-iversary” pictures for her and her boyfriend, and I was happy to oblige.

Love at First Shoot

Love at First Shoot

After eight weeks of traveling through Texas, Louisiana, and Arizona, I finally have a few minutes to get the blog somewhat up-to-date.

Before I share some pictures that have been incubating on my hard drive since the beginning of May, I have some [outdated] news to share.  One of my favorite blogs, theoatmealartist.com, featured me as an Oatmeal Enthusiast for the month of June.  Head over to Lauren’s blog (or click on the picture below) to see a week’s worth of oatmeal!

9 Friday (enchiladas).JPG

I was honored to shoot engagement photos for my close friends Heather and Logan a few months ago.  This was the first time I had ever taken photos of a couple, and I was very pleased with how they turned out.  I hope you enjoy!
